Collection of four hand-colored bird engravings by François Nicolas Martinet (1725-1804), taken from the ten volume ‘Histoire naturelle des oiseaux,’ by Georges-Louis Leclerc, compte de Buffon. Published in Paris 1771-1786 by the Imprimerie royale. Engravings are float-mounted and framed in maple. Engravings sold together as a set priced $2,500.
