Hand-cut butterfly box from vintage hand painted Marbalia wallpaper samples (circa 1957) hand-cut into butterfly shapes. Each mounted on brushed gold foil. Marbalia wallpaper, produced by Laverne Originals (Erwine and Estelle Laverne) in the 1950s, feature patented hand painted faux marble designs. Samples currently may be found in collections throughout the United States, including the MOMA and the Copper Hewitt Design Museum, New York.
