Description
French tilt-top ‘table de vendange,’ or wine-tasting table circa 1840-1889. Large round walnut top raised upon an oak trestle base with simple V-shape harp mechanism. All hand-carved. Naturally semi-bleached irregular mid-brown finish. Remnants of ebonized black painted finish on base. Tilt-top fully functional and can be stored tilted upright for storage (measures 47.25 inches high x 39.75 inches wide x 16 inches deep when stored upright). Serves as a large side or end table, or as a dining table for breakfast or intimate dinners, both indoors and al fresco.
