Ebonized sack back Windsor armchair hand-carved from ash and pine (circa 1790-1810), from Rhode Island. Remnants of original (or early) black paint are naturally worn away to reveal rich brown wood patina.
Period: 19th Century
Condition: GoodWear consistent with age and use. Some losses and fading to finish. Seat measures 17 inches high x 20 inches wide x 14 inches deep and arms are 27.5 inches high. Chair is stable, sturdy and in good condition with joints recently tightened.
