Delft “Tabac de St. Vincent” tobacco jar circa 1780. Ceramic urn-shape jar from the Netherlands in faience with blue painted leaves encircling “Tabac de St. Vincent” in black. This Dutch tin-glazed jar was made to contain a variety of tobacco grown in St. Vincent (Beginning in the 18th century the island of St. Vincent produced tobacco for export to Europe). Face-shape handles and brass lid.
