Description

Collected set of eight Georgian dining chairs from England. Eight English country chairs of similar shape, style and scale, circa 1750-1789. Hand-carved in oak, mortise and tenon joinery with an early dark brown patina. Newly dressed in a scalloped-edge white linen skirted seat cushion. Sold together and priced $9,800 for the set of eight.

Dimensions of chairs vary:

Height – 36.75 and 38.25 inches
Width – 18 and 20 inches
Depth – 16.5 and 18 inches
Seat height (with cushions) – 19 to 20 inches

  • Condition: Excellent
  • Condition details: Wear consistent with age and use. Sturdy, stable. Joints tightened. Patina and finish worn slightly in the expected spots around edges, splats and seats. Skirted cushions new.
