Description

Hand carved primitive Swedish armchair in beechwood and ash (circa 1670-1699). Traces of early ruddy color paint. Well worn prominent, almost serpentine shaped, claw arms. Original or early rope seat. Turned upright supports connected by original turned stretchers. All elements of this armchair show all the beautiful patina and centuries of wear expected of a chair of its age.

  • Condition: Good
  • Condition details: Wear consistent with age and use. Seat and finish show losses. Fading. Remnants of early or original paint. Woven rope seat appears original, or very early. Some losses in small area in front. All joints have been tightened.
